1912 to present - 100m - All Seats $7
Santa Fe based writer and New Mexico film historian Jeff Berg returns to The Guild to present the latest of his made in New Mexico flip clip compilation series, Made in NM Westerns: The Last Shootout, an all-new compilation of clips from westerns that have at least been partially shot within New Mexico.
This will be the fifth and final installment of the 'westerns only' series, with the other four parts of the series having been screened at the Guild over the last two years. There will be other compilation screenings in the future, but they will not include the western genre.
In case you missed those (and it doesn't matter, since the format is the same, offering different movies in each part of the series), Berg has compiled film clips from about 15 different westerns, starting with a 1912 oddity starring silent film star Mary Pickford and continuing up to present day. After each short clip is shown, he then does live narration, offering tidbits about the film, such as where it was shot, any historical reference, and sometimes even if it is worth your time to see the entire movie that the clip is from. Audience participation is strongly encouraged.
Some of Hollywood's most noted actors, besides Pickford will make an 'appearance' on the big screen, including Gregory Peck, bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Burt Lancaster, an even Jerry Lewis-twice! There may also be some faces that you may wish you have never seen!
